I had a friend gift me about 5 yards of this cool, southwestern style fabric and I knew I had to use it as a background before I made anything out of it. So, when Ashley contacted me about doing a styled session, I pulled it out and set it up. I love how much these first images look like an album cover. I made the oversized jacket (It's now in my personal closet), found a great shirt and earings at Target, pulled out my favorite boho hat from my client closet, and we had a great look for Ashely.
Those last couple images are my favorite from this set. I just love focusing on Ashley's face and the depth of those yellow and orange flowers. Both great colors for her skin tone.
For the next set, I wanted a bit of old Hollywood glam. I really love the split black and white background.
Studio work is always a great opportunity to try some new and different things. I'm glad I was able to use the fabric for this session. Ashley's portraits turned out beautifully.
I think that southwestern fabric will be turned into a full skirt. Can't wait to make it and add it to my client closet!
