Carolyn and Dan had a perfect day for their wedding at River View at Occoquan. Everyone was happy to be there, Carolyn was simply radiant, the fall colors were bright and beautiful. It was such a wonderful day to be a part of.
Having taken a few portraits of Carolyn and Dan at Carolyn's sister's wedding the previous year, I was honored to be asked to be a part of their wedding day. As an assistant photographer for her sister's wedding, I wasn't aware I had made that big of an impression! It was so great traveling back to Virginia to work with Jenifer again and to celebrate these two beautiful souls.
Carolyn and Dan decided they wanted to spend a lot of time just to have pictures by themselves. We started the day with their first look (Carolyn threw confetti - a surprise for Dan and such a cute idea!) and then just walked around River View taking pictures. They never stopped smiling.
Once the sun went down and portraits were over, we all went inside for Carolyn and Dan's ceremony and reception. I just adore their choice of those mini bunt cakes instead of traditional wedding cake for their reception. Speaking of details: I LOVE the colors they chose for their wedding. That mint and dusty rose is just perfect for late fall/early winter. The bridal bouquet is stunning.
You can just tell how happy everyone was to be celebrating Carolyn and Dan on their wedding day. One of the best things about wedding photography is capturing the JOY that radiates from people on this one-of-a-kind day.
