Can we talk about adult birthday sessions? I love them! Deja contacted me because she wanted to do something extra special to celebrate her 21st birthday, and I was 100% all for it!
I meet Deja early on in the planning process for coffee. We got to know each and talk about all her ideas for her session. We customized my birthday package to fit exactly what she was looking for. She is such an amazing, hard working woman, I was honored to start off her birthday weekend celebration with this super-fun portrait shoot!
Deja really wanted to include family and friends in her session. They mean so much to her and her journey into adulthood. We went to Narrows Reserve Park (a favorite of mine as it's really close to my studio!) and her mom came with their two adorable yorkies. Deja's friend also came for some great laughs, cake, and some fun photos.
Fortunately, the Ohio winter didn't treat us too badly and it wasn't very cold for our outdoor session in December.
We went back to the studio after the park and celebrated Deja with a lot of sparkle, tulle, glitter, and cake! (Plus a little champagne.)

Deja also wanted to do some casual photos in the studio. I enjoyed chatting with Deja via text while she looked for clothes and tried a bunch of stuff on at the store. Part of the fun of portraits is picking out the clothes and doing the styling beforehand. I absolutely love collaborating with my clients on what style they are looking for.
Deja also wanted to celebrate her body and beauty. I encourage and adore women who are empowered and proud of themselves! Courage, confidence, and beauty are always intertwined. Deja just shined during her session.
