Huntley Meadows was one of my go-to parks for portraits when I lived in Alexandria, VA. I loved all the green, the tree tunnels, trails, and open spaces. There's always something to explore with any outdoor portrait location, no matter how many times you visit!
We didn't have a lot of fall colors yet when we went out for this family session, but this family of three showed up with great smiles and a lot of love! I love this little cutie's big smile! It was all about that smile for me during this session!
Celebrating young kids can be a lot of work! But keep in mind that we are capturing their personality in between all those "posed" photos. Sometimes it seems like they are just running around being their crazy selves and I might not be getting "good" pictures. But I love those in-between moments where we can really see who they are.
Mom told me afterward that they used a photo of her daugher running for her birthday party announcement and I loved that they chose something that was just totally HER for that. It's fun when those silly moments turn into what is truely cherished.
I love this hide-a-away spot at Huntley that we stopped at for pictures of the family again. It's a bit of a walk from the enterance, but worth the short trek.
More exploring on the way back to the car. So glad I was able to capture this little munchkin's smiles!
