Throwback to 2013 and this wonderful engagement session with Josh & Meredith at The Woodlands Waterway.

I met Meredith at her cousin's wedding where I came as a guest with a camera. She took a leap of faith with this budding photographer and asked me to photographer her wedding and engagement.

The Woodlands Waterway has some beautiful locations for portraits. It was so much fun walking around, taking some pictures, and getting to know Josh and Meredith better. Their love for each other and joy in being together made their session a lot of fun for all three of us!

I love doing engagement sessions with my wedding clients as it gives us all the opportunity to get to know each other better and for couples to become more comfortable in front of a camera with me as the photographer.

One of the hardest and most wonderful things about photography is you can't learn it from a book: you learn by experience. In 2012/2013, I was just getting in to portrait sessions. I'd done a lot of concert and dance photography and photojournalism, but not a lot of "posed" portrait photography. It was wonderful when people had faith and asked me to photograph them. I grow with every session, but will always look back on this session as something special.

Plus, look how adorable these two are! I can't believe it's been almost 7 years since this session!
