Maternity sessions are always so much fun, especially when celebrating the first baby in the family! G&L wanted to celebrate their growing family by going down to The National Mall and visiting some of their favorite spots.

One thing I remember very clearly about this session is trying to meet up - I had met G before our session, but as he was parking, L called me from the Lincoln Memorial and we had to be quite clever about locating each other among all the other people! We did meet up with only a little extra walking and had a wonderful time enjoying the beautiful fall day in D.C.

G&L came with so many fun ideas for their session! I love the Alabama baby booties, and the adorable pink onesie and hat that was a gift from L's co-workers. We had a lot of fun walking The Mall, taking portraits together, and getting to know each other better.

Also, I'm a huge sucker for these fall colors!

We had a fun challenge trying to communicate from across a busy rush-hour street for this last set of images! I think you can agree, G&L rocked the posing with the Capital building in the background.

I love when acquaintances become clients and then become amazing friends! I've loved working with G&L over the years since this first session. None of us are in the D.C. area anymore, but I do make sure to bring my camera along to do updated family portraits when we do get together.
