Summer sessions! Flowers are blooming and the sun is shining and bright. They aren't very popular as people prefer the spring and fall for sessions when the weather is milder. I just like to think of ice cream while I'm sweating away during summer sessions. Always toasty but totally worth it!


I contacted Lauren about doing a bee themed session because I found that adorable fabric for Leigh's outfit that I had to do something with. She wholeheartedly agreed and I love that I have a wonderful friend who lets me borrow her kid for sessions when I have a fun idea! And Leigh is just so adorable.


We had a lot of fun exploring Cox Arboretum, making family announcements, and playing with the bees!

Cox Arboretum is absolutely beautiful. It has so many great spots for photos! We did a lot of walking, which helped Leigh put up with me for so long! Mom and Leigh had fun smelling the flowers, playing on the rocks, and running as fast as possible while taking pictures.


We also included a "2" in a few photos as Leigh was only a few weeks away from her second birthday! How is she that old already??

I love this butterfly house at Cox. It doesn't have any butterflies in it right now because the park wants to keep people from congregating there due to Covid. I actually loved that it was overgrown and deserted.


We decided to set up our little bee themed items here. Leigh loved playing with the little bees!


One of my favorite photos so far of 2021 was also snapped in the butterfly house. Lauren has been teaching Leigh how to water the plants at home, so when Leigh picked up the watering can and started "watering", I snapped away. She is so cute! I love that it was something she did all on her own.

This was such a fun session for me. I love all the mommy and me moments as well as seeing Leigh's personality shine through.


And that romper! I mean, I can't even...... it's so cute!!!!
