Sometimes it's hard to put into words where creative ideas and collab shoot ideas originated. I think this one started with wanted to collab with Alex again. I basically gave her free reign on the first make up look, I just had found some fun colored seuqin. I love how bright the make up look is: with the bright yellow eyes, the starburst, and a subtle lip. It just brought all the focus to Lizzie's gorgeous blue-green eyes.
The second look came about when I was talking with Lizzie about what we wanted to do. Alex toned it back with a beautiful, natural look that I really loved. We went with a 70s vibe. I really just wanted to incorporate the fruit and that teal denim backdrop.
With all natural light coming from the window Lizzie was laying under, the light is so soft and perfect.
I absolutely love these close-up eye shots.
We had originally planned on going to a parking garage for this shoot, but day of was SO hot and humid we decided to stay in my studio (at the time, my dining room with all the furniture removed!). We went outside for just a few images and we were all extrememly greateful we didn't decide to do an all outdoor shoot: just those few minutes were brutal!
I really love that soft light on Lizzie in that second to last photo. I had her in just a little patch of green next to our apartment parking lot. I wish I had a pulled back shot of our location! You really can find photography locations anywhere if you know how to look.
