Isn't it fun to combine family pictures with the holiday season? The Christmas season is my favorite time of year! I love the smells, the crisp air, the decorations, the lights, the pine trees, hot cocoa: all things cozy and Christmas-y. I was excited to plan a family session at Christmas with Amber and her beautiful family.
They had just moved into their first house together a few months before, so it was easy to decide on that as the session location. And, since we were doing pictures the week before Christmas, I packed up all my mini session decorations and headed to Columbus.
I absolutely love the pajamas the girls started out in. Aren't they just too cute?
After we got a lot of pictures inside, we did some photos on the front porch. It was raining that day, so we kept the family dry under the porch roof. I really liked incorporating their house into the family pictures. The house purchase was a big deal for them. I'm glad we could save those memories. I know they will make many more happy ones there!
It's also good to get some neutral photos, even if it is Christmas time. This way, the photos can be put out all year round.
Amber and I had been talking about doing family photos with everyone for a year! But we could never quite get the schedule right when we were doing Collette's first year milestone pictures. It was so fun finally getting together with this entire family.
