Jenifer and Chris got married on a gorgeous May day in an intimate ceremony at the DACOR Bacon House. They kept it to nine attending family members, an aide, the officiant, and me. Jenifer and I had worked together photographing other's weddings, families, kids, and events for almost ten years and it was a great honor when she asked me to be the photographer for her own wedding day.
The day was lovely and simple. The historic DACOR Bacon House in downtown Washington DC was a stunning backdrop for the ceremony and the greenery outside was bright in the May sun.
Washington DC has so many unique historic places and each have their own special charm. The ceremony room for Jenifer and Chris was a perfect fit for their family to be witnesses.
The JOY on Jenifer's face was contagious.
After the ceremony, I snuck Jenifer and Chris out for a few more photos and a chance for them to spend a little time together. The large windows on the stairwell and the space outside the main entrance were perfect for a little portrait get-a-way. Jenifer and Chris then enjoyed cocktail hour with their family before heading off to dinner.
Jenifer and Chris had another, larger, ceremony at the Friends Meeting House of Washington later in the year where they could include more family, friends, and their amazing community.
This wedding day was so special, and I'm incredibly thankful I got to celebrate it with Jenifer and Chris; not just as a photographer, but also as a friend.
